Post by c186282Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania ... they're gonna be
shitting their pants, not putting up real resistance
to Russian forces.
I sharply disagree. The Baltics, Finland and Poland have been
steadily increasing military presence on their Russian borders since
at least 2021. Poland and Estonia are now spending more on defense
than we are in %GDP.
NATO has joined all five of those nations' border basing and I've read
of at least two new US/NATO bases in eastern Finland.
These forces, as they are even now, could invade Russia and force
Putin to withdraw from Ukraine.
He's withdrawan so much men and material from Kaliningrad that a
serious independence movement might survive.
Also, China presents a grave threat to Asian Russia.
Post by c186282Poland will be covering it's
own ass. Finland ... MIGHT try something but they
don't have enough people.
See above. They have new NATO and US bases as well as having expanded
their own installations close to the border. The Fins are building a
"border barrier". They've left the landmine ban to mine that barrier.
Poland has been steadily building defenses at the Suwalki gap. That's
one reason Belarus rattles its saber from time to time.

Russia is weaker than you think, but then, so are we.
