Yeah, and they'll be factoring in those tariffs in their pricing.

Prices will go up. Fewer goods will be available.

Nah, you already got the answer: it’s business leadtimes for the next 2-3
quarters (at least) and the contract prices thereof.

And based on the current collapse in shipping & transport times for same,
the pain is going to start to hit in May - June timeframe.

Likely to also include a big crimp on July 4th fireworks too, since most
fireworks sold in the US are made in China.

Yes, stupid, because we pay TAXES for those services, but we DON'T want to pay for wasteful excessive bullshit.

If you have fewer people doing the jobs we ASK for, that SAVES us money, which can be used to pay for more important things, and
NOT the fucking bullshit YOU want to pay for, like shit related to how animals, such as rats, can become transsexual and how men
can get pregnant.

WE don't wanna pay for faggot shit like that any more.

We are perfectly happy paying for what we need and no more.

"Trump Derangement Syndrome" Is a Real Mental Condition

All you need to know about "Trump Derangement Syndrome," or TDS.

"Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS) is a mental condition in which a person has been driven effectively insane due to their dislike
of Donald Trump, to the point at which they will abandon all logic and reason."

Justin Raimondo, the editorial director of Antiwar.com, wrote a piece in the Los Angeles Times in 2016 that broke TDS down into
three distinct phases or stages:

"In the first stage of the disease, victims lose all sense of proportion. The president-elect's every tweet provokes a firestorm,
as if 140 characters were all it took to change the world."

"The mid-level stages of TDS have a profound effect on the victim's vocabulary: Sufferers speak a distinctive language consisting
solely of hyperbole."

"As TDS progresses, the afflicted lose the ability to distinguish fantasy from reality."

The Point here is simple: TDS is, in the eyes of its adherents, the knee-jerk opposition from liberals to anything and everything
Trump does. If Trump announced he was donating every dollar he's ever made, TDS sufferers would suggest he was up to something
nefarious, according to the logic of TDS. There's nothing - not. one. thing. - that Trump could do or say that would be received
positively by TDSers.

The history of Trump Derangement Syndrome actually goes back to the early 2000s - a time when the idea of Trump as president was
a punch line for late-night comics and nothing more.

Wikipedia traces its roots to "Bush Derangement Syndrome" - a term first coined by the late conservative columnist Charles
Krauthammer back in 2003. The condition, as Krauthammer defined it, was "the acute onset of paranoia in otherwise normal people
in reaction to the policies, the presidency - nay - the very existence of George W. Bush."

Unfortunately, you don’t pay enough for the services you take for granted.

Plus just because you think that program XYZ isnt worth anything doesn’t
mean that all other taxpayers (who have just as much of a right to an
opinion) agree with you: it’s why the budgets are determined via consensus
of elected officials.

Nah, you just don’t want to pay, often because you’re afraid that you’re
less financially secure than you’re comfortable with…and yet you won’t
cancel Netflix or make other personal budget adjustments to be more
financially secure.
Post by AlleyCat
We are perfectly happy paying for what we need and no more.
Proof of that claim is absent. Plus most people don’t know everything that
they need, particularly when planning for their own longer term future.

For example, do you know what the average out-of-pocket healthcare cost
totals are for an age 65 couple for the remainder of their life…and how
well you’ve done saving up that amount to not be a burden on society like
you’re whining about? Plus bonus points: what major care expense is not
included in the aforementioned average?

Because if you don’t know (a) this average value, + (b) it’s exclusions, +
(c) have saved at least the average amount from (a), then you’re unprepared
and are at high risk of being a burden on society & taxpayers… precisely
what you’re bitching about, if those safety net programs you loathe are
cut.

Exactly.

I will never visit Denali National Park
but I don't mind paying to maintain it because
it is national treasure. I have no children
in public schools but I don't mind paying for
them because we need a literate scciety. I don't
have Parkinson's but I don't mind paying for
researching it because it is a common enemy.

Conservatives used to at least understand
the notion of a commmon good and the need to
sacrifice for it, now the tide of libertarian
selfishness seems to be their only focus.

Nope. The dilemma you have is that you cannot be positive that you & your
family will never need Medicaid, nor any other ‘Social Services’, and your
shortsighted attitude is that you don’t want to pay for having any
insurance.

And that’s also why you’ve dodged on my question on if you (a) actually
know, & (b) are actually financially prepared to self-fund all of your
retirement healthcare expenses, at least to the average published costs.

Annnnnd THAT'S why we have DoGE... now.
Nope. This Administration is all about tax cuts for the 1% which will make
the deficit even worse. They sell it to their base by slashing so-called
‘unpopular’ stuff, under the premise of reducing the deficit, but due to
their tax cuts for their oligarchs, they’re not actually reducing the
deficit. Those who benefit from this strategy won’t be harmed as much
relative to the general public by tariffs because tariffs are regressive
instead of progressive.
Post by AlleyCat
Ever been to a state or municipal construction site?
Yup. Have a major one presently nearby and they look nothing like your
trolling pics. Plus I’m scheduled for a small municipal project on my
property later this spring, and I know that the crew won’t be dozens
standing around doing nothing. I’ll take pics.

about the other wreckage?
I cannot wait until this summer when the
MAGAs discover all the national park restrooms
are closed because of Musk mass firings and
road maintainance has stopped because of Musk
mass firings and power outages are happening
because of Musk mass firings.
"Bertha and I had to drive fifty miles to a State campsite because our
favorite Federal campsite was closed. That's exactly the sort of
failure and inefficiency DOGE was created for! They'll make sure that
campground is open NEXT summer!"
Modern Conservative: Someone who insist that
government pave his roads, protect his borders, inspect
his food, deliver his mail, provide his social security
benefits, maintain his local police and fire departments
and collect his garbage so he can spend his days ranting
about "Government is bloated and more public workers
need to be fired"
That makes sense. All that can be done with less people.

Laughter.
It's April you idiot.
And Bradley runs away.

"Damn! Five bucks for a pack of six sparklers?"

Never in the history of humanity has there ever been a civilization
that had more power and more wealth than the United States does today.

Not Rome, not Egypt, not China or the oldest, India.

The United States of America

Why aren't you magas satisfied with that?
