Presidents Can’t End Birthright Citizenship
Jan 21

President Trump claimed to end
birthright citizenship on the first
day of his second term. Trump’s
executive order is unconstitutional,
in direct conflict with the plain
language of the 14th Amendment and
over a century’s worth of Supreme
Court case law. It will be litigated
immediately and its prospects of
surviving those court fights are
slim, even before a Supreme Court
stacked with conservative justices
and Trump appointees.

Trump’s order contends — as opponents
of birthright citizenship long have —
that the children of undocumented
immigrants can’t be citizens, because
they allegedly aren’t “subject to the
jurisdiction” of the United States.
That’s nonsense. Undocumented
immigrants and their children are
required to follow the same laws as
everyone else on U.S. soil, including
paying taxes. (As distinct from the
primary example of people not subject
to the federal government’s jurisdiction:
foreign diplomats.)

He can just ignore the SCOTUS like Biden did relative to student loan debt.

Trump ends birthright citizenship.

Millions of teenagers applying for
a Social Security card are told their
birth certificate is no longer proof
of citizenship, application denied.

"What else do have to present to
to prove I am an American"?

"We don't know, Trump hasn't told
us, but you now need more"

Biden did not ignore the court, you stupid liar. When the court held his student
loan forgiveness plans to be unconstitutional, he abandoned them.

Why do you tell such stupid lies, asshole?

A president cannot amend the
Constitution on his own.

Remember his call for warrantless
seizures of guns from law abiding
gun owners?

How odd. You didn't come out against Biden ignoring the Supreme Court
four times.

You should perhaps read up on the origin of that Amendment. It had
nothing to do with immigration.
And Lying Lee has fled.

So amend the Constitution to what you want it to be. Meanwhile we
have the actual Constitution not your fantasy.
