The key difference between DOGE and past efforts to address government mismanagement is that DOGE is focused on doing something about it.

Obama and Biden talked a good game and NOTHING ever came of it.

"From the day I took office, one of the commitments I made to the American people, was that we would do a better job here in Washington, in rooting out wasteful spending."

Trump?

No.

Obama.

...without any justification.
https://saraacarter.com/lee-zeldin-slams-biden-admin-over-2-billion-handout-to-stacey-abrams-linked-nonprofit/

A nonprofit with ties to Democrat Stacey Abrams has become the center
of a controversy after receiving a staggering $2 billion in taxpayer
funds. According to the Washington Free Beacon, the Department of
Government Efficiency (DOGE) discovered that the funds were initially
allocated by the Biden administration’s Environmental Protection Agency
(EPA), and were earmarked for Power Forward Communities, a group with
minimal prior revenue.

In April 2024, the EPA awarded Power Forward Communities the grant as part of the Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund program. The timing and size of the grant have raised eyebrows, given that Power Forward Communities was established in late 2023 and reported only $100 in revenue during its first three months.

According to the Free Beacon, “Power Forward Communities’ grant was one of just eight Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund grants that the EPA doled out in April 2024 and that, altogether, totaled $20 billion. EPA administrator Lee Zeldin announced on Feb. 13 that his staff and Department of Government Efficiency officials discovered that the Biden administration parked that same $20 billion at an outside financial institution before leaving office, limiting the federal government’s oversight of the program.”

With Power Forward Communities being linked to Stacey Abrams, ethical questions have arisen over the beneficiaries of taxpayer dollars under the Biden administration. Critics are questioning the selection process for these massive grants and whether political favoritism played a role. Republicans have long voiced concerns that Biden administration initiatives would be used to bolster organizations specifically created to receive federal funding under programs like the Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund.

“When we learned about the Biden Administration’s scheme to quickly park $20 billion outside the agency, we suspected that some organizations were created out of thin air just to take advantage of this,” Zeldin told the Free Beacon. “I made a commitment to members of Congress and to the American people to be a good steward of tax dollars and I’ve wasted no time in keeping my word.”

“As we continue to learn more about where some of this money went, it is even more apparent how far-reaching and widely accepted this waste and abuse has been,” he continued. “It’s extremely concerning that an organization that reported just $100 in revenue in 2023 was chosen to receive $2 billion. That’s 20 million times the organization’s reported revenue.”

Zeldin reminded Americans that President Trump was elected with a
“mandate from the American people to stop the fraud and abuse by
leaders who irresponsibly shoveled boat loads of cash to far-left,
activist groups in the name of environmental justice and climate
equity, instead of serving the American people,” adding that “those
days are over.”

https://www.whitehouse.gov/articles/2025/02/at-usaid-waste-and-abuse-runs-deep/

For decades, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) has been unaccountable to taxpayers as it funnels massive sums of money to the ridiculous — and, in many cases, malicious — pet projects of entrenched bureaucrats, with next-to-no oversight.

Here are only a few examples of the WASTE and ABUSE:

$1.5 million to “advance diversity equity and inclusion in Serbia’s workplaces and business communities”
$70,000 for production of a “DEI musical” in Ireland
$2.5 million for electric vehicles for Vietnam
$47,000 for a “transgender opera” in Colombia
$32,000 for a “transgender comic book” in Peru
$2 million for sex changes and “LGBT activism” in Guatemala
$6 million to fund tourism in Egypt
Hundreds of thousands of dollars for a non-profit linked to designated terrorist organizations — even AFTER an inspector general launched an investigation
Millions to EcoHealth Alliance — which was involved in research at the Wuhan lab
“Hundreds of thousands of meals that went to al Qaeda-affiliated fighters in Syria”
Funding to print “personalized” contraceptives birth control devices in developing countries
Hundreds of millions of dollars to fund “irrigation canals, farming equipment, and even fertilizer used to support the unprecedented poppy cultivation and heroin production in Afghanistan,” benefiting the Taliban
The list literally goes on and on — and it has all been happening for decades.

Under President Trump, the waste, fraud, and abuse ENDS NOW.

You lie simply to lie as a knee jerk.

https://www.constructiondive.com/news/report-more-than-a-third-of-us-bridges-are-structurally-deficient-it-coul/604302/

The U.S. has a bridge problem.

The American Society of Civil Engineers gave the country’s overall
infrastructure a C- grade in its 2021 report card, and the American
Road and Transportation Builders Association estimates that 171.5
million vehicles cross over 45,000 structurally deficient U.S. bridges
every day.

U.S. RURAL ROADS & BRIDGES HAVE SIGNIFICANT DEFICIENCIES & HIGH FATALITY RATES; BACKLOG OF NEEDED REPAIRS & IMPROVEMENTS TO U.S. RURAL ROADS & BRIDGES TOTALS $198 BILLION
Eds: TRIP’s report and appendices include data for all 50 states for the percentage of rural roads in poor condition, the percent of deficient rural bridges, rural traffic fatality rates and the number of rural traffic fatalities.

An analysis of the Status of the Nation’s Highways, Bridges and
Transit Conditions and Performance Report, 25th Edition report,
submitted by the United States Department of Transportation (USDOT) to
Congress in 2024, indicates that the U.S. faces a $198 billion backlog
in needed repairs and improvements to the nation’s rural roads,
highways and bridges. This includes a $97 billion backlog for rural
road and highway rehabilitation, a $53 billion backlog for needed rural
bridge rehabilitation, and a $48 billion backlog for needed rural
roadway expansions and enhancements.

Biden actually got something done for our infrastructure.
Nope.
Roads, bridges, rail, all worse by far.
Wrong.
You lie simply to lie as a knee jerk.
https://www.constructiondive.com/news/report-more-than-a-third-of-us-
bridges-are-structurally-deficient-it-coul/604302/
The U.S. has a bridge problem.
The American Society of Civil Engineers gave the country’s overall
infrastructure a C- grade in its 2021 report card, and the American
Road and Transportation Builders Association estimates that 171.5
million vehicles cross over 45,000 structurally deficient U.S.
bridges every day.
That is not proof that it is "all worse by far" because of Biden.

It's certainly proof you have a problem.

As your own source (from August of 2021) notes:

'As the Senate advances a bipartisan infrastructure bill, bridges across
the country continue to deteriorate. Here are three that exemplify the
urgency.'

Oh, and one of the three bridges they highlighted:

'Brent Spence Bridge, Cincinnati

...

The federal bridge inventory has listed the Brent Spence Bridge as
“functionally obsolete” since the 1990s, the Times reported, and it has
a history of crashes and traffic issues.'

Well guess what:

'Wednesday, January 4, 2023

The First Large Bridge Project Grants, awarded in Fiscal Year 2022 are
as follows:

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet will receive $1.385 billion to
rehabilitate and reconfigure the existing Brent Spence Bridge to improve
interstate and local traffic flow between the interconnected Kentucky
and Ohio communities on either side of the Ohio River.'

Yup. What that's saying is that the backlog of infrastructure needs was
even bigger than (2017 Trump's thru 2024 Biden's) funding levels, which
means that it makes even LESS sense for 2025 Trump to cancel funding.

A major bridge in my town was just closed due to structural issues.
They had better get it fixed before the summer tourist season or things
are going to be a mess.

Biden actually got something done for our infrastructure.
Nope.
Roads, bridges, rail, all worse by far.
Can't argue with stupid. Adios.

I'm sorry you're so stupid, toodles.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Infrastructure_policy_of_Donald_Trump

During his first run for the presidency, Trump touted a potential major
infrastructure initiative. Although both sides of the political aisle
recognized the need to upgrade American infrastructure, no major
infrastructure bill was passed due to disagreements over the details of
such a spending package, namely, what to spend on, how much to spend,
and how to pay for it. In general, the aim of the Trump administration
was to revitalize the national economy and enhance national security,
despite the tendency of the Republican Party to oppose large federal
expenditures and tax hikes. Members of the Democratic Party typically
favored investing in renewable energy and new infrastructure that could
begin to combat climate change.

Because we still have a whopping debt to service, for now...
But they only suggested 20% to go to debt service.
...so where's the other (100% - 20% - 20%) = 60% going?
More tax cuts for billionaires & oligarchs?

Try INFRASTRUCTURE, something you libtards let get away from us.
You're kidding right?

The previous administration did more for infrastructure than the past 3
Republican administrations combined.

(That's hyperbole, BTW. And you probably need to look up "hyperbole".)

The efforts the Dems killed off in favor of EV mandates and such:

The Republican nominee’s push to pour more money into roads and bridges
than Hillary Clinton is his latest break with conservatives, and it’s
drawing criticism from one of his own economic advisers.

the proposal to be unveiled will call for "at least $200 billion" in federal spending on infrastructure projects over the next 10 years, with a goal of attracting at least an additional $800 billion in financing from state and local governments along with private partnerships, the official said.

In fact, if you look at the history of it, the budget has almost always

They have been running, feeding, and hand-tending the greatest
giverment fraud and money laundering operation in the history
of Earth!
No freaking way they are going to let that cash cow be leaned
out for the taxpayers, no sir!
It begs the question of what the true size of that slice of
giverment GDP share is.

It would not surprise me if our entire economy was 75% fraud
by giverment.
So why is Trump only promising to return 20% of the savings to
the taxpayers?
Because we still have a whopping debt to service, for now...
You should have stuck with Clinton then.
Term limits, learn them.
You mean like the ones that Trump is claiming should apply to him?
Term limits - he had 2, end of story.
He's claiming he "deserves" another one...

Under President Trump, the waste, fraud, and abuse ENDS NOW.
The staggering thing is the left is defending the above, and
more. Not because they don't think it's worthy use of US
taxpayer dollars, but only because it's Trump who is acting
on it.
Has any democrat come out and supported eliminating
government waste and fraud? Me thinks they protest too much
for a reason. I can't wait till these democrat cockroaches
get exposed and it's only a matter of time before they do.

The key difference between DOGE and past efforts to address
government mismanagement is that DOGE is focused on doing something
about it.
The key difference is that DOGE is declaring things are "waste" without any justification.
Ahhh... here we go again... liberal bullshit semantics.

Trump Tariff Aid To Farmers Cost More
Than U.S. Nuclear Forces
Jan 21 2020

The Trump administration gave more
taxpayer dollars to farmers harmed
by the administration’s trade
policies than the federal government
spends each year building ships for
the Navy or maintaining America’s
nuclear arsenal, according to a new
report. A National Foundation for
American Policy analysis concluded
the spending on farmers was also
higher than the annual budgets of
several government agencies.

Trump was open about the purpose
of the payments. "I sometimes see
where these horrible dishonest
reporters will say that ‘oh jeez,
the farmers are upset," he told
attendees of an Illinois farmer show
in August 2019. "Well, they can’t be
too upset, because I gave them $12
billion and I gave them $16 billion
this year. . . . I hope you like me
even better than you did in ’16."

DOGE finds a nearly untraceable budget line item responsible for $4.7T in payments
Earlier this week, DOGE announced it had discovered an identification
code linking U.S. Treasury payments to a budget line item, which
accounts for nearly $4.7 trillion in payments, that was oftentimes left
blank.

"The Treasury Access Symbol (TAS) is an identification code linking a Treasury payment to a budget line item (standard financial process)," DOGE wrote in a post on X.

"In the Federal Government, the TAS field was optional for ~$4.7 Trillion in payments and was often left blank, making traceability almost impossible. As of Saturday, this is now a required field, increasing insight into where money is actually going."

The agency thanked the U.S. Treasury for its work in identifying the optional field.

According to the Bureau of the Fiscal Service, which is under the
Treasury, TAS codes are used to describe any one of the account
identification codes assigned by the Treasury and are also referred to
as the "account."

There are obviously individual records of expenditures.

Those records allegedly lack a particular code.

Does that mean they aren't dated?

And those records almost certainly have dates, so I ask again:

The Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) announced Monday
that some $4.7 trillion in payments from the Treasury Department
were missing a critical tracking code, which made tracing the
transactions “almost impossible.”
What part of "over what period of time" confused you?
There are obviously individual records of expenditures.
Those records allegedly lack a particular code.
Does that mean they aren't dated?
It means they are difficult if not impossible to track/trace.
As to their PURPOSE, perhaps (assuming we're getting all the facts.
But obviously, there is an amount being claimed for each of the
records found.
Over what time period?
Do you ever relent to reality?

DOGE finds a nearly untraceable budget line item responsible for
$4.7T in payments Earlier this week, DOGE announced it had
discovered an identification code linking U.S. Treasury payments
to a budget line item, which accounts for nearly $4.7 trillion
in payments, that was oftentimes left blank.
"The Treasury Access Symbol (TAS) is an identification code
linking a Treasury payment to a budget line item (standard
financial process)," DOGE wrote in a post on X.
"In the Federal Government, the TAS field was optional for ~$4.7
Trillion in payments and was often left blank, making
traceability almost impossible. As of Saturday, this is now a
required field, increasing insight into where money is actually
going."
The agency thanked the U.S. Treasury for its work in identifying
the optional field.
According to the Bureau of the Fiscal Service, which is under
the Treasury, TAS codes are used to describe any one of the
account identification codes assigned by the Treasury and are
also referred to as the "account."

The very fact they can claim an amount means that other aspects of the

The key difference between DOGE and past efforts to address
government mismanagement is that DOGE is focused on doing something
about it.
The key difference is that DOGE is declaring things are "waste"...
...without any justification.
Justification found and documented:

https://www.whitehouse.gov/articles/2025/02/at-usaid-waste-and-abuse-runs-deep/

Internet Trolls Are Narcissists, Psychopaths, And Sadists Trolls Will Lie, Exaggerate, And Offend TO GET A RESPONSE [so true]

Loser
AlleyPussyBitch
Pole-puffing no-fight squat-to-piss shrieking estrogen-oozing

Pussey

Of course, these never work, AS INTENDED.

=====

An Internet troll is someone who enters an online discussion and posts comments designed to upset or disrupt the conversation.

"Dark Tetrad" personality traits include narcissism, Machiavellianism, psychopathy, and sadism.

(someone's been reading my possstss againnnnn)

In a study of 1200 people, Dark Tetrad scores were highest among people who said trolling was their favorite Internet activity.

In this month's issue of Personality and Individual Differences, a study was published that confirms what we all suspected: Internet trolls are horrible people.

Let's start by getting our definitions straight: An Internet troll is someone who comes into a discussion and posts comments designed to upset or disrupt the conversation. Often, in fact, it seems
like there is no real purpose behind their comments except to upset everyone else involved. Trolls will lie, exaggerate, and offend to get a response.

What kind of person would do this? Some Canadian researchers decided to find out.
Study: Internet Trolls and Dark Tetrad Personality Traits

They conducted two online studies with over 1,200 people, giving personality tests to each subject along with a survey about their Internet commenting behavior. They were looking for evidence that
linked trolling with the "Dark Tetrad" of personality traits: narcissism, Machiavellianism, psychopathy, and sadism.

They found that Dark Tetrad scores were highest among people who said trolling was their favorite Internet activity. To get an idea of how much more prevalent these traits were among Internet trolls,
one can refer to tables from the paper showing low Dark Tetrad scores for everyone in the study ... except the trolls. Their scores for all four traits soar on the chart. The relationship between
trolling and the Dark Tetrad is so significant that the authors write in their paper:

"... the associations between sadism and GAIT (Global Assessment of Internet Trolling) scores were so strong that it might be said that online trolls are prototypical everyday sadists." [emphasis
added]

Trolls truly enjoy making you feel bad. To quote the authors once more (because this is a truly quotable article): "Both trolls and sadists feel sadistic glee at the distress of others. Sadists just
want to have fun ... and the Internet is their playground!"

The next time you encounter a troll online, remember:

These trolls are some truly difficult people.
It is your suffering that brings them pleasure, so the best thing you can do is ignore them.

I don't recall seeing anyone take the time to decide that paying for
circumcisions in Mozambique was not wasteful.

The test should be real simple:

Does <insert spending initiative here> further a constitutionally
authorized proper role, purpose and function of the government?

If Yes - authroize the spending.
If No - whack it.

Anyway, the time for talk is over. The voters decided as much a few
weeks ago.

First, it wasn't just talk:

Talk time is over? Tell that to the Republican leaders begging Trump to not

FORTUNE DISCUSSES THE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN MEN AND WOMEN: #17

Shoes:
The average man has 4 pairs of footwear: running shoes, dress shoes,
boots, and slippers. The average woman has shoes 4 layers thick on the floor
of her closet. Most of them hurt her feet.

Making friends:
A woman will meet another woman with common interests, do a few things
together, and say something like, "I hope we can be good friends."
A man will meet another man with common interests, do a few things
together, and say nothing. After years of interacting with this other man,
sharing hopes and fears that he wouldn't confide in his priest or

sentimentality and say something like, "You know, for someone who's such a

Let me pose a littly hypo to you.

Assume you're walking down the street and some guy comes up to you and
says 'I am starting a program to fund the production of a DEI musical in
Ireland. It costs $70,000. Would you care to donate to our cause"?

Answer honestly, would you donate even one red cent?

If you have one shred of honesty you would answer 'no.' And why would
that be? Is it because it doesn't benefit you? Maybe you think it's a
waste of your hard earned money? Something else?

So, why do you think it's okay for your government to make that decision
for you?

Anyway, the time for talk is over. The voters decided as much a few
weeks ago.
Wrong. The billionaires decided. They decided Trump was the best foil
to expand their already insanely bloated wealth.
They've been working at this for decades.
Right. The people elected Trump, and with it comes his advisors. He ran
on this...and won.
The only thing thaty've been at for decades is talk, that's all. Talk
time is over. The voters ensured that.
:-D
"The people" have been indundated with disinformation, propaganda,

Yea, I agree.

Talk time is over? Tell that to the Republican leaders begging Trump to not
fuck over their states with all this "cost-cutting".
Cost cutting is cost cutting.
Eliminate the waste and especially the fraud and start all over again with
some real oversight.

It's going to be painful but it must be done as we can't continue to
support the entire planet and especially with radical left wing programs like DEI.

===============================================================================

"Trump Derangement Syndrome" Is a Real Mental Condition

All you need to know about "Trump Derangement Syndrome," or TDS.

"Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS) is a mental condition in which a person has been driven effectively insane due to their dislike of Donald Trump, to the point at which they will abandon all logic
and reason."

Justin Raimondo, the editorial director of Antiwar.com, wrote a piece in the Los Angeles Times in 2016 that broke TDS down into three distinct phases or stages:

"In the first stage of the disease, victims lose all sense of proportion. The president-elect's every tweet provokes a firestorm, as if 140 characters were all it took to change the world."

"The mid-level stages of TDS have a profound effect on the victim's vocabulary: Sufferers speak a distinctive language consisting solely of hyperbole."

"As TDS progresses, the afflicted lose the ability to distinguish fantasy from reality."

The Point here is simple: TDS is, in the eyes of its adherents, the knee-jerk opposition from liberals to anything and everything Trump does. If Trump announced he was donating every dollar he's ever
made, TDS sufferers would suggest he was up to something nefarious, according to the logic of TDS. There's nothing - not. one. thing. - that Trump could do or say that would be received positively by
TDSers.

The history of Trump Derangement Syndrome actually goes back to the early 2000s - a time when the idea of Trump as president was a punch line for late-night comics and nothing more.

Wikipedia traces its roots to "Bush Derangement Syndrome" - a term first coined by the late conservative columnist Charles Krauthammer back in 2003. The condition, as Krauthammer defined it, was "the
acute onset of paranoia in otherwise normal people in reaction to the policies, the presidency - nay - the very existence of George W. Bush."

Added Krauthammer:

"Some clinicians consider this delusion - that Americans can only get their news from one part of the political spectrum - the gravest of all. They report that no matter how many times sufferers in
padded cells are presented with flash cards with the symbols ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, MSNBC, NPR, PBS, Time, Newsweek, New York Times, Washington Post, L.A. Times - they remain unresponsive, some in a
terrifying near-catatonic torpor."

(If you don't realize the idea of TDS or BDS is - in no small part - meant in a tongue-in-cheek manner then, well, you may well have it.)

Trump allies believe that TDS is worse than ODS or BDS - by a lot. Wrote conservative pundit Bernie Goldberg on Real Clear Politics in early 2017:

"Before the election, the victims of TDS routinely compared Donald Trump to Hitler. Guess what. They're still doing it. Articles in respectable publications written by professors at elite
universities are warning us to be on guard, that a Trump presidency could imperil democracy-as-we-know-it and may very well spell doom for American civilization.

"On election night, as it became obvious that their worst nightmare was about to come true, some libs fainted. Some vomited. Many more threatened to leave the country, but I'm pretty sure none
actually did. As Donald Trump might say in a tweet: so sad!"

The truth is that TDS is just the preferred nomenclature of Trump defenders who view those who oppose him and his policies as nothing more than the blind hatred of those who preach tolerance and free
speech. Viewed more broadly, the rise of presidential derangement syndromes is a function of increased polarization - not to mention our national self-sorting - at work in the country today.

We no longer live around, work around or pal around with people who think any differently than us. We watch cable news that affirms what we already think. We read ideological "news" sites that tell
us how good our side is and how bad the other one is. And on and on and on.

Is it any wonder then that we are increasingly willing to lump those who disagree with us into the "deranged" category? To say that those who don't share our views are mentally deficient in some way?

What does it say about a President - and about a country - when the standard response to those with whom you disagree is that they must be crazy? Nothing good, for sure.

=====

Many clinicians, political commentators, and members of the public have speculated upon the mental health of President Donald Trump. Indeed, over 70,000 people self-identifying as "mental health
professionals" have signed a petition declaring that "Trump is mentally ill and must be removed." In sociological terms, the "medical gaze" has been hitherto focused on President Trump, and to a
lesser extent his ardent supporters.

However, in recent months, many have been questioning the direction of this "medical gaze." In fact, more and more people are suggesting that this "medical gaze" should be reversed and refocused on
President Trump's most embittered and partisan opponents. Some have even suggested that these opponents are experiencing a specific mental condition-a condition which has been labelled "Trump
Derangement Syndrome" (TDS).
What does DSM-5 say about "Trump Derangement Syndrome"?

Mental illnesses are officially classified in a dense and dry book published by the American Psychiatric Association (APA) known as the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fifth
Edition (DSM-5). This book contains 947 pages and lists hundreds of mental disorders; TDS is nowhere to be seen. Similarly, a review of scholarly databases such as MEDLINE and Google Scholar reveal
no academic papers on this alleged syndrome. Officially at least, TDS is not a real, diagnosable, or treatable mental disorder.

That said, medical anthropologists and critical sociologists have convincingly argued that DSM-5 is a flawed document. Indeed, social scientists have long recognized that there are numerous "folk
categories" of mental disorders that are considered real conditions by the general public, even though they are not recognized as such in the DSM. These include categories such as "burnout" or
"nervous breakdown."

As such, lack of official recognition does not mean that TDS is not a real mental condition.

Lay Understandings of "Trump Derangement Syndrome"

There is no shared lay understanding of TDS, mainly because it is a folk category rather than a professional category. As such, there is currently much armchair speculation about the nature and
existence of TDS, without consensus.

The name itself explicitly suggests a "syndrome," which the Oxford English Dictionary defines as "a characteristic combination of opinions, emotions, or behavior." Several commentators have run with
this, putting forth suggestions about opinions, emotions and behaviors characterizing TDS.

Shared amongst these is a notion that the everyday activities of President Trump trigger some people into distorted opinions, extreme emotions and hysterical behaviors. Well-known writer Bernard
Goldberg gives supposed behavioral examples of TDS among Trump's political opponents, including fainting, vomiting, students retreating to "safe spaces" and others demanding "therapy dogs." Political
commentator Justin Raimondo focuses on opinions, language and cognition, writing in the LA Times that "sufferers speak a distinctive language consisting of hyperbole [leading to] a constant state of
hysteria... the afflicted lose touch with reality."

Such forms of highly emotional reaction could be something akin to the fainting and screaming characterizing American Beatlemania in the 1960s. Unlike the Beatles, however, the extreme emotional
reaction alleged to characterize TDS is not based on adoration and admiration, but on fear and loathing.

Contrariwise, many others ridicule the notion that TDS is anything but a malicious slur term used to discredit and delegitimize criticism of President Trump. For example, CNN's Chris Cillizza may
speak for many when he stated: "The truth is that TDS is just the preferred nomenclature of Trump defenders who view those who oppose him and his policies as nothing more than blind hatred."
Likewise, Adam Gopnik writes that "our problem is not TDS; our problem is Deranged Trump Self-Delusion."

In other words, there are polarized opinions about the nature, reality and existence of TDS.

Conclusion

The wider public may be unaware that psychiatrists and social scientists spend considerable time and energy behind closed doors pondering over the existence and reality of mental conditions. This has
led the APA to revise the DSM five times since 1952, considerably expanding the list of official mental disorders with each revision. As far as I am aware, few psychiatrists are currently arguing
that DSM-6 should contain TDS as a mental disorder.

That said, in its official definition of mental disorder, the DSM-5 states that "a mental disorder is a syndrome characterized by clinically significant disturbance in an individual's cognition,
emotion regulation, or behavior... mental disorders are usually associated with significant distress in social, occupational, or other important activities."

Many have argued that some people have been seriously disturbed and distressed by the policies, speech, behavior, and tweets of President Trump, so much so that it has affected their cognitive,
affective, and behavioral functioning. Such people may need mental health support. As such, further research is necessary to investigate the extreme reactions toward President Trump, in the same way
that researchers investigate other extreme social phenomena, such as Beatlemania or the like. This will shed light on the reality of this emerging folk category that has been labelled by many as
"Trump Derangement Syndrome."

If Yes - authroize the spending.
If No - whack it.
Of course, since all spending by Congress is duly authorized
Constitutionally, it means that nothing qualifies to get cut.

Because once someone besides Congress starts trying to make those
decisions, one needs to have a third arbiter ... oh, say maybe we need
to have a Judicial branch?

Until all of that's been decided, Federal funds brought you your

According to the Free Beacon, “Power Forward Communities’ grant was one of just eight Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund grants that the EPA doled out in April 2024 and that, altogether, totaled $20 billion. EPA administrator Lee Zeldin announced on Feb. 13 that his staff and Department of Government Efficiency officials discovered that the Biden administration parked that same $20 billion at an outside financial institution before leaving office, limiting the federal government’s oversight of the program.”

It's a bit more nuanced than that. Congressional spending doesn't
generally line-item *specific* spending (for ex. see if you can find
'circumcisions in Mozambique' in any US bill). It merely delivers a bag
of cash to an agency to spend in its oh-so infinite wisdom. Furthermore,
Article 2 gives the president significant influence over federal
agencies, including reorganize agencies, direct agency heads to cut
programs, reduce staff, or shift priorities, as long as it aligns with
the law.

Nah, ita more detailed than what you're trying to suggest. Nomenclature
varies by Agency, but an example is the "Program Objective Memorandum"
which is a short summary and is required down to a resolution of $5M.

Sure, because that's the essential nature of what 'delegation' is. Even
so, there's additional Congressional micromanagement rules which
constrain freedom, such as a cap on how much funding can be shuffled
between POM lines before it requires higher authority approval ... and
even then, there's still the quarterly reports that go to Congress for
their review even when below change approval threshold requirements.

Prevalent in DOD. Not aware of its use anywhere else. Or maybe you can
show us the POM that lists funding for circumcisions in Mozambique.

Because once someone besides Congress starts trying to make those
decisions, one needs to have a third arbiter ... oh, say maybe we
need to have a Judicial branch?
Which is exactly what's happening right now. Let's call it 'democracy'
in action.

Does telephone service, cellular service and internet services further
a constitutionally authorized proper role, purpose and function of the
government?
Yes - commerce clause. I think I'll stay plugged in.
Except that the commerce clause doesn't specifically call out
"telephone", "cellular", or "internet":  time to unplug. /s
It doesn't mention "wheat" either. Ask Roscoe Filburn how that worked out.

Does <insert spending initiative here> further a constitutionally
authorized proper role, purpose and function of the government?
If Yes - authroize the spending.
If No - whack it.
Of course, since all spending by Congress is duly authorized
Constitutionally, it means that nothing qualifies to get cut.
It's a bit more nuanced than that.
But of course.

Congressional spending doesn't generally line-item *specific*
spending (for ex. see if you can find 'circumcisions in Mozambique'
in any US bill). It merely delivers a bag of cash to an agency to
spend in its oh-so infinite wisdom.
Nah, its more detailed than what you're trying to suggest.
Nomenclature varies by Agency, but an example is the "Program
Objective Memorandum" which is a short summary and is required down to
a resolution of $5M.
Prevalent in DOD. Not aware of its use anywhere  else. Or maybe you can
show us the POM that lists funding for circumcisions in Mozambique.
As I said, budget nomenclatures vary by Agency, but ultimately they do
all have to go back up to Congressional appropriation lines, including
the obligation and disbursement follow-up reports.

Now when the public wants to go trace something specific, homework is
required to go find where its published, because bureaucratically it
can't not be in some line somewhere. And as I already said, the minimum
threshhold reporting means that very small efforts get captured in the
rollup of an above-threshhold line but may on its own fail to make the
cut for the line's short description paragraph. Personally, I never had
to bother to track down the Open Lit reporting because I had no reason
to; my involvement's mostly been to update the sanitized for public
release descriptions paragraph for the appropriations submissions.

Furthermore, Article 2 gives the president significant influence over
federal agencies, including reorganize agencies, direct agency heads
to cut programs, reduce staff, or shift priorities, as long as it
aligns with the law.
Sure, because that's the essential nature of what 'delegation' is.
Even so, there's additional Congressional micromanagement rules which
constrain freedom, such as a cap on how much funding can be shuffled
between POM lines before it requires higher authority approval ... and
even then, there's still the quarterly reports that go to Congress for
their review even when below change approval threshold requirements.

Precisely: one can't assume that the commerce clause is definitive upon
itself: one needs to go look deeper into all of the regulatory
guidance, prior Judicial determinations, etc. It is what marks the
current campaign as extrajudicial and severely wanting.

https://www.theamericanconservative.com/overturn-wickard-v-filburn/

Filburn was the owner and operator of a small farm in Ohio. Under the Agricultural Adjustment Act of 1938, the federal government attempted to control the price of wheat by allotting how many acres of wheat a farmer could grow in that particular year. Filburn grew and threshed more wheat than was allotted, and then refused to pay the federal penalty.

The intended purpose of this law was “to control the volume [of wheat] moving in interstate and foreign commerce in order to avoid surpluses and shortages and the consequent abnormally low or high wheat prices and obstructions to commerce.” That is a fine intention. But the federal government has limited enumerated powers; Congress can only legislate under the powers expressly given to it by the Constitution, and the Tenth Amendment makes clear that any “powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.” Therefore, any time Congress acts, even with the best of intentions, it needs to rely on a particular power enumerated in the Constitution.

In Wickard v. Filburn, the power supposedly came from the Commerce Clause, which gives Congress the power to “regulate Commerce... among the several States.” The plain language of the Commerce Clause requires that two circumstances be present for the federal government to wield this enumerated power: the situation must involve commerce, and that commerce must be “among the several States," meaning the commercial act must cross state lines. As Randy Barnett explained in an excellent article, the original meaning of the Commerce Clause is fairly straightforward:

Congress has power to specify rules to govern the manner by which people may exchange or trade goods from one state to another, to remove obstructions to domestic trade erected by state; and to both regulate and restrict the flow of goods to and from other nations (and the Indian tribes) for the purpose of promoting the domestic economy and foreign trade.

Consider for a moment what the Court did in Wickard v. Filburn. Filburn grew grain in excess of what was allowed by federal law. The facts are not entirely clear, but it seems that not only did he not sell the excess grain in interstate commerce, but he didn’t sell the excess grain at all. Filburn operated what was primarily a small dairy and poultry farm. Each year, he grew a small amount of wheat, of which he sold a portion, and kept the rest for seed, home consumption, and animal feed. The Court astonishingly ruled that

wheat grown for home consumption would have a substantial influence on price conditions on the wheat market, both because such wheat, with rising prices, may flow into the market and check price increases and, because, though never marketed, it supplies the need of the grower which would otherwise be satisfied by his purchases in the open market.

This portion of the Court’s holding is the central problem. If a crop is grown for home consumption, it might have an influence on the market price of that crop. If the farmer satisfies his own need for a crop that he would otherwise purchase on the open market by growing it himself, that will indirectly affect interstate commerce.

That might be true, but it does not change the glaring reality: The Commerce Clause is a limited enumerated power that allows Congress to regulate commerce among the several states. The holding in Wickard v. Filburn extended that power to the growing of a crop for personal consumption, which is neither commerce nor interstate activity.

Wickard v. Filburn is an offensive activist decision, bending the Commerce Clause far beyond its plain meaning. That is cause enough to overrule it. But this holding extends beyond government overreach into the lives of small wheat farmers. Antony Davies and James R. Harrigan realized the reach of the precedent created by Wickard v. Filburn: “Since Wickard, any time Congress has wanted to exercise power not authorized by the Constitution, lawmakers have simply had to make an argument that links whatever they want to accomplish to interstate commerce.” And if the facts of Wickard are sufficient for Congress to invoke the Commerce Clause, the possibilities are endless.

If Congress does not need to show that an activity actually involves interstate commerce—or even commerce at all—but only that the activity has “a substantial influence” on interstate commerce, Congress can regulate anything. If I chop down a tree on my property and burn it in a wood stove, that activity, if performed by enough people, could affect the price of energy in interstate commerce. If I raise enough chickens that I don’t need to buy eggs and my neighbors follow suit, this could affect the price of eggs in interstate commerce. The Wickard Court goes into great detail about the unique importance of the American wheat market at the time it wrote its opinion, but the opinion does not limit itself to a crisis in the wheat market.

This case set a horrible precedent, giving Congress power far beyond
what is enumerated in the Constitution. It allows the federal
government to interfere in the most local and basic aspects of our
lives. The Court should overrule Wickard v. Filburn. It should leave me
to grow my wheat, chop my trees, and raise my chickens without
congressional oversight. And it should tell Congress very clearly that
regulating commerce "among the several states" means exactly that:
Congress only has the constitutional authority to regulate the sale or
trade of goods that cross state lines. If we are not dealing with
actual interstate commercial transactions, overrule Wickard v. Filburn
and leave the federal government out of it.

Discovering what is wasteful and what is not takes time.
This took mere days:

https://www.whitehouse.gov/articles/2025/02/at-usaid-waste-and-abuse-runs-deep/

The key difference between DOGE and past efforts to address
government mismanagement is that DOGE is focused on doing
something about it.
Obama and Biden talked a good game and NOTHING ever came of it.
"From the day I took office, one of the commitments I made to the
American people, was that we would do a better job here in
Washington, in rooting out wasteful spending."
Trump?
No.

And so did Clinton and Gore.
They actually did a decent job of it as well.
And to do a decent job they spent some time looking at the problem
before making changes.
Did they?

That can't have taken too damned long as they WERE part of the problem!

Not like Musk's chaotic farce where they're now scrambling to re-hire
some people they fired.
Action vs. inaction.

When a goobermint gets this bloated it mandates drastic downsizing.

Plenty of time to rehire as needed, after assessing the impacts.

He's uncovered $billions in waste and since he's the expert on what waste
constitutes, we don't need any proof so it's good that Elon hasn't produced
any.

This is a case of good Americans faithfully believing what their government
says like all true patriots.

I just heard a minute ago that DOGE found $849.8 billion of waste in the
military that Congress approved but must have been a mistake so he's
clawing it back.
