PermalinkLatest projections put CDU/CSU at 28.5%, the right-wing populist
AfD at 20.6%, and Chancellor Scholz's SPD at 16.5%
. . .
More shift away from the failures of 'socialism'.
The AfD is still considered 'too extreme' and for
now won't play so much of a role, despite it's
good performance at the polls.
The 'independence from the USA' remark is kinda
interesting. Since WW2 and esp from the start of
the Cold War, Germany has received a LOT of money
and aid from the USA - including large numbers of
US military bases.
As the predominant industrial power in Europe,
why is the USA still carrying Germany ??? It
HAS the power to stand on its own feet, has for
a long time. US input at the base only allowed
Germany to go more nuts on many ridiculous
nanny-state/greenie projects. Well, let them
decide WHAT of that is of vital importance and
how much was just fluff and politics.
